About Beed Papad Safari

Beed Papad Leopard Safari is a brand-new wildlife reserve in Jaipur that opened on World Environment Day (June 5, 2025). It spans the Maila Bagh and Beed Papad forest areas (part of Nahargarh Sanctuary, 5,240 hectares). The forest department has developed about 19 km of motorable safari tracks here, along with 12 waterholes and restored grasslands to support wildlife. Under the leadership of senior forest officials, 10 certified safari gypsies are now operating in Beed Papad, each carrying up to 6 visitors. The safari’s official entry point is through the Vidyadhar Nagar area (near Bhuteshwar Mahadev Mandir on VKI Road).

Jaipur’s Third Leopard Zone

After Jhalana and Amagarh, Beed Papad (also called Maila Bagh Safari) gives Jaipur a third big-cat sanctuary. Together, these reserves form a wildlife corridor that helps leopards move safely and keeps them away from city neighborhoods.

Thriving Wildlife

About 19–21 leopards roam the Beed Papad area, so your chances of spotting a big cat are excellent. Conservation efforts have boosted prey and water availability here, improving habitat for all animals.

Innovative Conservation

The new safari was designed not just for tourists but to protect leopards. By creating this reserve, officials reduce chances of big cats wandering into villages, improving safety for both humans and wildlife.

Official Support

Inaugurated by Rajasthan’s Chief Minister on June 5, 2025, Beed Papad Safari is part of Jaipur’s eco-tourism push. When you visit, you’re supporting responsible wildlife tourism in one of India’s fastest-growing green destinations.

It lies at the foot of the Aravalli hills, within the Nahargarh Sanctuary’s Maila Bagh–Beed Papad forests. Major nearby landmarks: Nahargarh Biological Park (Zoo) is to the south, and Kishan Bagh hills to the north. Wildlife You Can Spot

Beed Papad Leopard Safari

A leopard (“panther”) lounging on a rocky outcrop in the Beed Papad Safari. Leopards are the stars of this safari, but many other animals thrive here.

Key Species

The highlight is undoubtedly the leopard (panther), India’s majestic big cat. Other notable animals include Sambhar deer, Nilgai (blue bull), wild boar, hyenas, jackals, and porcupines. Birdlife is abundant – look for raptors like crested serpent eagles, colorful parakeets, and migratory waterfowl near ponds.

Flora & Scenery

The landscape is a mix of dry deciduous forest and Aravalli scrub. Watch for unique desert plants (like khejri and babool trees) along the trails. Forest departments have planted grasses and created clearings to improve wildlife visibility. In places, you’ll notice sand dunes and desert-like terrain.

What to Expect and Why Choose Beed Papad Safari

Leopard cubs in a tree, as one might spot on a Beed Papad Safari (Jaipur). Watching a mother and cub high in the Aravallis is an unforgettable highlight of the tour. Your Beed Papad Safari will be a guided jeep tour led by trained forest guides. Rides last about 2–2.5 hours, covering roughly 19 km of trails. Each jeep seats up to six people, plus the guide. Tours typically depart at sunrise or late afternoon (slots TBA; likely ~6:00–9:00 AM and 3:30–6:30 PM).Expect an exciting ride on bumpy tracks through rugged forest and hills. You’ll traverse rocky Aravalli foothills, thorny scrub, and open vistas. The trail climbs to the historic Maila Bagh Shikar Odi – a 19th-century hunting lodge with panoramic views – where guides often pause to scan for wildlife. In dry patches, the dunes take over, giving a brief desert-safari feel. Along the way, your guide will use binoculars and expertise to spot animals and explain the ecosystem.

Brand-New & Pristine

Unlike crowded, mature parks, Beed Papad is fresh and well-maintained. The vegetation and water sources were enhanced just before opening, so the forest looks lush and animals are comfortable.

Unique Terrain

No other Jaipur safari offers a mix of Aravalli hills and desert dunes. You get the thrill of a jungle drive plus a bit of desert adventure in one outing. The terrain is scenic and varied, from rocky ridges to sandy glades.

Big Cats Galore

With roughly 19 leopards in its bounds, Beed Papad rivals Jhalana’s leopard population. Seeing a healthy number of panthers so close to the city is a rare treat – Jaipur really is India’s Leopard Capital.

Wildlife Corridor

This safari helps leopards and deer roam between Nahargarh, Jhalana, and Amagarh, bolstering conservation. By visiting, you support this innovative eco-tourism project.

Jaipur’s Safari Hub

Jaipur is unique as a city with tiger, lion, elephant, and leopard safaris. Add Beed Papad to your trip for a full suite of wildlife experiences – often, travelers combine visits to Nahargarh (lion safari), Ranthambore (tigers), and these leopard safaris into one trip. Beed Papad gives a new dimension to Jaipur’s wildlife tourism.

Photographer’s Paradise

With its dramatic backdrops, diverse terrain, and ample wildlife sightings, Beed Papad is a dream for wildlife and landscape photographers. Golden hours here are spectacular – perfect for capturing that leopard on a rocky outcrop or a peacock in the dunes.

Beed Papad Leopard Safari FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

When did Beed Papad Safari open?

It was inaugurated on June 5, 2025. Since then it has been open to the public during daylight hours. Currently tours run daily, but exact timings (morning/evening shifts) are announced seasonally by forest authorities.

How do I reach the safari entrance?

The Safari entry is at Bhuteshwar Mahadev Gate on VKI Road (Vidyadhar Nagar). If driving, head west from Jaipur along Jhotwara Road toward VKI Road. Signboards point to the safari gate. Cabs can drop you directly at the gate.

What are the safari timings?

While official times are set by authorities, expect two shifts per day. By analogy with Jaipur’s other safaris, a morning slot typically starts around sunrise (≈6:00–6:30 AM) and runs ~2.5–3 hours. An evening slot runs roughly 3:30–6:30 PM. Confirm exact hours when booking.

What is the ticket price?

Adult tickets are ₹1,350 per Indian national and ₹2,500 per foreign visitor. You can also book an entire 6-seater jeep (gypsy) for ₹7,000 (Indian) or ₹12,000 (foreigner). Children’s fares may apply – check at booking.

How do I book a safari?

Book through the official channels before visiting (the same system used for Jhalana Safari). All seats are prepaid, first-come-first-served. No on-the-spot walk-up bookings are guaranteed. Our website’s booking page will guide you through available dates, shifts, and payment. After payment and confirmation, arrive at the gate 25 minutes before departure.

Are there any rules I should know?

Yes – follow your guide’s instructions at all times. No smoking, alcohol, or loud music inside the safari area. Always stay seated and keep all body parts inside the vehicle. Flash photography of animals is discouraged. Remember, you are in a wildlife reserve, not a zoo – respect the animals’ space and natural behavior.

Is photography/camera allowed?

Yes, you may take photos and videos from the jeep. A simple camera or smartphone is fine. Professional camera equipment (DSLRs, drones) usually require special permits or fees – ask at booking if you plan to bring them. Drones are not allowed in the reserve.

Can children come on safari?

Yes, children are allowed, but for safety young children are often counted as part of adult tickets or have a minimum age (check when booking). It’s recommended that children be old enough to sit quietly in the jeep (typically 5+ years).
